The Graduate Student Association (GSA) at NJIT serves as the official voice and governing body of the graduate student community. As a central pillar of student life, the GSA advocates for the academic, professional, and social well-being of all graduate students. Through its leadership, the GSA fosters collaboration between students, faculty, and university administration, ensuring that the needs and perspectives of graduate students are actively represented. Maintaining the work of the GSA is vital to sustaining a vibrant, inclusive, and empowered graduate community at NJIT. By participating in the GSA, students help shape policies, enhance campus culture, and contribute to the legacy of graduate excellence that defines our institution.
GSA Sprint 2025 Elections are open for a variety of positions
The positions of :

VP of Academic Affairs,
VP of Programming,
VP of Finance,
VP of Communications, and
VP of Public Relations
are open for nominations.
Interested candidates should review the GSA Constitution and this semester’s Election packa to see the requirements and responsibilities for each position. All candidates will need to submit a current resume or CV, a short (<1 page) statement of purpose, and a short presentation (2-3 slides) to present during . After submitting your nomination, candidates will be reviewed by the Office of Graduate Studies.

![[3MRP sign up - link in our Bio]The 3-Minute Research Presentation (3MRP) at NJIT 2025 is a traditional competition where graduate students present their research in three minutes using only a single static slide, with the goal of improving communication skills, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and showcasing innovative projects.
Eligibility: Research must be conducted at NJIT under the guidance of a faculty advisor, and be part of a Masters’ Thesis or PhD Dissertation.

Official GSA T-Shirt & Mug Design Contest Eligibility
Open to the entire NJIT community.
Requirement: Must be a human work (Work with AI is not allowed).
Deadline: Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 11:59 PM.
Submission Guidelines
Original graphic design (no copyrighted material).
Maximum of three (3) colors in the design.
Submissions must be in high-resolution PDF or PNG format.
T-Shirt Design
The T-shirt official base color is red.
Maximum print size: 12” H x 12” W (front).
Mug Design
The mug can have a black, white, or red background (participant’s choice).
Maximum print area: 1.25” H x 4” W.

All designs must comply with NJIT’s Community Policies and code of conduct.
Competition Timeline
Submission Deadline: Sunday, February 23, 2025, 11:59 PM.
Finalist Announcement: Wednesday, February 26, 2025 – Top 5 designs in each category will be selected.

What is GSA?
The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is a student government organization that represents the interests of all Graduate Students in university affairs. GSA’s mission is to provide a structure through which graduate students work together to improve the quality of graduate student life. Active members gain direct access to social and educational events, open travel opportunities for conferences and seminars, and opportunities to establish connections with university leaders.

The General Assembly is the legislative body of the GSA, composed of Department Representatives (voting members), Recognized Graduate Organizations (non-voting members), and Executive Board members (non-voting members). It serves as the central forum for discussion, decision-making, and approval of policies, budgets, and initiatives that impact the graduate student community.
